NEW BERLIN, Wis. — Last spring, New Berlin Eisenhower senior Molly McCormick helped the Lions win their first-ever state soccer championship. The new season is right around the corner!

What is your favorite class and why?

Molly McCormick: AP Literature and Composition because it is challenging, yet very fun and rewarding.

Who is your favorite teacher and why?

McCormick: Mr. White, because I have taken many classes of his over the years and there has never been a dull moment. Mr. White finds a way to make class fun no matter what!

What sports do you play? Which is your favorite and why?

McCormick: I play golf, basketball and soccer. My favorite sport to play is soccer because I started playing in kindergarten and I love being part of a team!

Who is your favorite coach? What makes them so special?

McCormick: It is hard to pick. I have been really lucky to have great coaches, but my favorites are Coach Datka and Coach Claassen. These coaches are special because they actively reward players who work hard and put forth max effort.

If you could change one rule about a sport you play, what would it be?

McCormick: I would change the amount of fouls you can get in basketball, because I seem to use them up pretty quickly!

What co-curriculars do you participate in?

McCormick: I am the Senior Co-President of Student Union and I am a member of National Honor Society, UNICEF, DECA, and Culture Club.

Best thing about Eisenhower?

McCormick: Our school spirit!

What are your post-secondary plans?

McCormick: I plan on attending college to pursue a degree in speech pathology.

Favorite professional athlete?

McCormick: Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Where would you like to travel to?

McCormick: I would love to travel to Italy.

Favorite food?

McCormick: Ben and Jerry’s Half-Baked Ice Cream

Best advice you’ve ever received?

McCormick: To know your role. It is important in any team setting to understand what your role is to best support the team.

What advice would you give to younger students who wish to play your sport in high school?

McCormick: To never give up! As cliche as it sounds, it is true. If you work hard, it will eventually pay off!

Proudest accomplishment?

McCormick: My proudest accomplishment is winning the first state championship in Ike girls soccer history! This was truly a special moment that I will never forget, and I got to experience it with some of my best friends and my sister.

I regret…

McCormick: Not taking more risks or trying new things.

Biggest pet peeve?

McCormick: People who don’t try their best.

What would you like to get better at?

McCormick: Not letting the little things bother me.
