
Dothan boys basketball team wins Dothan Hoops Classic
DOTHAN, Ala. — The Dothan High School Wolves captured the 16th Annual Dothan Hoops Classic title. The tournament fielded 16 teams from the Dothan area. The Wolves defeated the Houston Academy Raiders in the championship game by a score of 55-45. Senior Thomas Dowd scored 28 points in the championship game and 74 points over their four tournament games. He received the Moses Knight Most Outstanding Player Award for the five day tournament. Dowd along with teammates Mehkai Menfee and Keith Stampley were named to the 2022 All-Tournament team. Menefee added 16 points and five rebounds against Houston Academy. New coach, Jeremy Bynum has led the Wolves to a 14-3 record as they prepare to enter area play in January.
