The 10 highest-scoring games by a player in NBA history
100 points – Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia Warriors, March 2, 1962
This performance comes with arguably the most famous photo of all time. A relieved Chamberlain is seen in his locker holding a white sheet of paper that simply has the number 100 written on it in black ink. This has become the game in which all other performances are measured.
In the game against the Knicks, Chamberlain went 36-for-63 from the field (57.1%) and 28-for-32 from the free throw line (87.5%) in a truly dominant performance. He also added 25 boards to his staggering offensive numbers. This was the first and, to date, the only time a player has reached triple digits in an NBA basketball game and is one of the least likely sports records to ever be broken.
