Meet Abbotsford Minor Hockey player Sebastian Campbell
ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia — Twelve-year-old Sebastian Campbell was only three years old when his parents enthusiastically donned his first pair of skates on him and enrolled him in skating lessons. Soon after learning to skate, he discovered his energizing love of hockey and began participating in every hockey camp he could. Once he was old enough, he joined Abbotsford Minor Hockey and has continued to play ever since. This year he is playing on the U13 A3 team.
Currently in Grade 7 at Abbotsford Christian School, Sebastian is a strong leader, with a tremendous sense and vision for the game. His natural proficiency, bolstered by his long, flowing mullet, makes him a remarkably fast skater. Sebastian mentions that his puck handling expertise is compliments of his “silky soft” hands.
Sebastian’s Abbotsford Minor Hockey team won gold in late fall of 2022 for their U13 Tier 3 tournament and Sebastian was honoured to receive the “Most Inspirational Player” of the tournament from his coach, Dustin McAuley.
Sebastian has so much respect for Coach Dustin and would like to say, “Thanks for being a great coach over the years and always believing in me.”
After high school, Sebastian would like to attend university. He has his eyes set on university in the USA. He sees certain American locations as being able to provide opportunity for him to study in the field of math or physics while honing hockey skills to further his career in sport. Ultimately, Sebastian would love to play in the National Hockey League.
Good luck in the future, Sebastian! Abbotsford is cheering you on.
