Ranking the top 10 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame finalists
1. Joe Thomas, OT, Cleveland Browns
While all of the players listed before have great cases for induction, Thomas’s case is head and shoulders above the rest. The star offensive tackle was the first offensive lineman in NFL history to be named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first 10 seasons and also played an NFL record 10,363 consecutive snaps.
In addition to those records, Thomas was also named first-team All-Pro six times and to the Hall of Fames All-Decade team of the 2010s. Though Thomas may have some of the best numbers behind his nomination, it will be interesting to see if the voters knock him for not winning a Super Bowl or even winning any playoff game during his standout NFL career. This is Thomas’s first year as a finalist.
After being named a finalist for the @ProFootballHOF last night, @joethomas73 was live on @nflnetwork reflecting on his career journey leading to this point and describing what it feels like to be so close to a goal he set at the start of his career 👏 pic.twitter.com/AVWLrvWVDC
