Ranking the top 10 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame finalists
9. Andre Johnson, WR, Houston Texans
In the brief history of the Houston Texans, there aren’t many players more recognizable than Johnson. The standout wide receiver finished his career with 1,062 receptions for 14,185 yards and 70 receiving touchdowns. His play earned Johnson Pro Bowl honors seven times and first-team All-Pro honors twice.
While Johnson certainly has the statistics to back up his induction with the 11th-most receiving yards and 49th-most receiving touchdowns in NFL history, there has been a glut of wide receivers either waiting for entry into Canton or also listed as finalists. This will make it difficult for Johnson to make it in this year as the voters may want to put some of the other receivers who have waited longer in first. This is Johnson’s second year as a finalist.
