Top 10 highest-rated HS football players of all time
INDIANAPOLIS (BVM) – Here is a list of the top 10 highest-rated high school football players of all time — which features athletes from the Class of 2000 to the Class of 2023.
The order of this list is determined by 247Sports’ Composite Rating – “a proprietary algorithm that compiles prospect ‘rankings’ and ‘ratings’ listed in the public domain by the major media recruiting services. It converts average industry ranks and ratings into a linear composite index capping at 1.0000.”
A scouting rate of 1.0000 indicates that the athlete is ranked as a No. 1 prospect across all services. Only six football players in history have achieved a perfect scouting rate.
Athletes who made the top 10 list have either a perfect scouting rate (1.0000) or were .0001 away from being a perfect high school recruit (0.9999). Although this is a top-ten list, notice that six players are tied for the No. 1 spot, leaving the four remaining to tie for the No. 7 spot.
The athletes in the top 10 all graduated after the start of the new century – so these athletes should be recognizable since they graduated after the year 2000. However, some of these athletes are familiar while others didn’t live up to the hype.
