Next, he uses exercise bands and static stretches and finishes the workout lifting weighted balls. He makes sure to drink lots of water, as it’s vital to stay hydrated on the field. “To stay loose and ease the stress, I will enjoy hanging out with my teammates while not doing anything too strenuous,” says Cameron. Afterwards, he will throw with the catcher; they will do a long toss, back into pull-downs, and finally, some flat-ground pitches. Finally, right before the start of a game, Cameron will put on his jersey and dedicate five minutes to ground and rest.
“Being a team member has taught me the importance of good culture and contributing from your role. Everyone on the team must lead by example by doing their work. Remaining positive and honest is also key to having a good team culture. Giving other people feedback and being open to receiving feedback from others is also beneficial to the team,” says Cameron.
