Norfolk State University men’s basketball: Off to another great start
NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State University’s Men’s Basketball team had a phenomenal run in their most recent season. The Spartans went undefeated at home and ended the season with a winning record of 24-7. They earned the title of 2022 Regular Season Champions and took first place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tournament, which sealed their spot into the Men’s NCAA Division I men’s tournament where they lost to #1 seeded Baylor.
The Spartans, currently coached by Robert Jones, are working toward another winning season and another shot at the NCAA tournament, which would be their 4th. The NSU men’s basketball team is best known for defeating #2 seeded Missouri in the 2012 NCAA Division I men’s tournament (86-84), which was their first ever tournament appearance and only the 5th time that a 15th seed had defeated a 2nd seed. Best of luck NSU!
