Ranking the NFL’s head coaching openings
5. Arizona Cardinals
Much like the Denver Broncos, who’s 2022 season went off the rails early on, the Cardinals as well faced a plethora of issues that contributed to both struggles on the field and off of it. Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill took things a step further following the regular season, completing a reset of the team’s current football structure by firing both general manager Steve Keim and head coach Kliff Kingsbury. After recently extending star quarterback Kyler Murray, any incoming head coach will have to mesh well with the team’s current signal caller. While the focus is primarily on Murray, things went sideways in all facets of the team’s past season. Finding a way to bring a talented roster back to the top of the NFC West will be any coach’s main goal, but the team’s issues off the field make it a job not suitable for all candidates.
