8. Brent Sutter, C (1980-92)
New York selected Sutter in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft with the No. 17 overall draft pick. He didn’t fully make an impact until the 1981-82 season when he played in 43 games. In 1987 he was named captain and served in that role until 1991.
Sutter accumulated 610 points (287 goals and 323 assists) during his time with the Islanders and captured two Stanley Cups.
