Ranking the top 10 Jacksonville Jaguars of all time
3. Jimmy Smith, WR (1995-2005)
After being cut by the Dallas Cowboys after the 1993 season, Smith was out of the NFL for a year due to a nearly fatal infection as a result of an emergency appendectomy. The Jaguars came calling and after totaling just 288 yards in his first season in Jacksonville, he became the best wide receiver in franchise history. Smith rattled off seven consecutive 1,000-yard seasons as the “lightning” of the duo with McCardell. Smith’s best NFL season came in 1999 when he racked up 1,636 yards on 116 catches.
