Forest Silver Stick International Finals hockey tournament makes return

THEDFORD, Ontario — Forest Silver Stick International Finals hockey returned for the first time to Lambton Shores since January 2020 and local fans witnessed a great weekend of very competitive hockey. Twenty-four U15 and U18 teams competed from across Ontario as well as Ohio and Colorado and our host teams. Silver Stick is unique in hockey as competitors must win a regional tournament to qualify for the International Finals.

Arenas in Forest, Thedford, and Watford were full as 56 games were held throughout the weekend with 4 champions coming out at the end on Sunday afternoon in Forest. Our local Lambton Shores Predators host teams competed extremely well. The U15C team narrowly missed the playoff round after two very close losses of 1-0 and 2-0 on Saturday. The U18C team played strong and lost out in a very close Final to Douro Dukes U18C by a score of 2-0 including a late empty net goal.

Over 30 dedicated volunteers from across Lambton Shores and area communities helped make our weekend a tremendous success.
