Get to know Shenendehowa bowler Jonathan Bauer
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Jonathan Bauer is captain of the varsity bowling team for Shenendehowa High School. It’s a sport that he is passionate about and is constantly trying to expand his skills. “I love the ability to be able to use my skills to compete with the other top bowlers in the area,” he says. He has been captain for 3 years and has been on the varsity team for four years.
During that time, he’s managed to achieve several honors: 2021-2022 awarded Shenendehowa High Most Honored player award from the Athletic Director; 2022 USBC Prestige champion; 2022 JSCDJPSL youth team travel league champion; 2022 USBC Troy champion (with 1st in team and singles, and 2nd in doubles); 2022 Section 2 All-Star; Represented USBC Capital District in NY State tournament four out of the last five years; and, has two sanction 300s.
In addition to the school team, Jonathan also plays with League Youth Clifton Park Spare Time, League Youth Sportsman Bowl Schenectady, and Youth Travel JSCDJPSL. When he’s not bowling, he enjoys golfing with friends.
As a senior this year, Jonathan’s favorite subject is math and accounting, and he’s excited to start at Williams Wood University in Missouri on a bowling scholarship to study accounting next year— “I’m looking forward to becoming a better person and hope to further my skills in bowling!”
