Ranking the top 5 open NFL offensive coordinator positions
5. Los Angeles Rams
This was a bit of a toss-up between the New England Patriots and the Rams. On one hand, the Patriots have a young, up-and-coming quarterback in place who may lack some weapons that a coach could mold in his own offense. On the other hand, though the Rams have an aging, oft-injured quarterback but weapons galore with the likes of Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson and Tyler Higbee in an offense mostly overseen by head coach Sean McVay.
Ultimately, the latter is more appealing because it was just one season ago the bulk of this group held up the Lombardi Trophy. Sure, the offensive coordinator wouldn’t be given playcalling duties as that is McVay’s bread and butter, but they do get to work with some of the NFL’s top talent which could bode well for their future.
