Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin basketball wins fourth straight Vermilion County Title
BISMARCK, Ill. — Heading into the Vermilion County Basketball Tournament, the Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils (17-5) knew they had a target on their back. After all, the BHRA boys basketball team were the Number 1 seed, and had won the three previous tournament titles.

And for a while it looked like the Salt Fork Storm (19-2) were going to claim that target, leading the Blue Devils at the 1st quarter break, holding BHRA to just four points.
BHRA roared back, taking the lead by halftime, but the game remained close until the 4th quarter, when the Blude devils went on a 6-0 run, turning a tight 25-24 game into a more comfortable 31-24 advantage.

BHRA eventually earned their fourth straight County title by a final score of 40-35. Seniors Hayden Rice, Brett Meidel, and Owen Miller were a part of the team for all four years.
“It was a team effort and I am proud of our guys; they worked hard this year,” Coach Gary Tidwell said. “I am proud of my team because they kept their composure. Salt Fork has an excellent team and we knew it would be a battle.”
Closing out a great tournament was the announcement that Blue Devils Ayden Ingram, Brett Meidel, and Micah Stanford were selected to the All-Tournament team.
BHRA had previously beat Salt Fork 46-45 with an impressive 4th quarter comeback in the Heritage/BHRA Christmas Tournament.
