NFL QBs with most conference championship appearances

7 – Steve Young, San Francisco 49ers

Another 49ers legend, Young matched Montana in terms of championship game appearances though he only started four of those games as he served as Montana’s backup from 1989-91. In his four starts, Young went just 1-3 throwing for 1,036 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions for a quarterback rating of 79.2.

Though Young didn’t have as much championship game success as his predecessor, he did go undefeated in Super Bowl appearances by winning his lone start in 1994. During that game, Young broke the Super Bowl record for most passing touchdowns in a single game with six.
