May’s only ties to the Hoosier State are his days as a student manager under Bob Knight at Indiana while he was in college, but the FAU head coach is a burgeoning talent. He became the first men’s basketball coach in FAU history to lead his team to four consecutive winning seasons after taking over in 2018. The Owls are currently off to their best start in program history and earlier this year, they cracked the AP top 25 (No. 24) for the first time in school history. FAU has not made it to the NCAA Tournament in two decades and it has never won a Conference USA title, but May’s stock will rise even more dramatically than it already has if one or both of those droughts are broken this season.
