Ranking the top 5 offensive coordinator candidates for Cowboys
DALLAS (BVM) – The Dallas Cowboys are in search of a new offensive coordinator after agreeing to mutually part ways with Kellen Moore, who served in that role for the team from 2019-2022.
Moore’s final game as the Cowboys offensive coordinator was a disappointing divisional-round playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers where his offense scored just one touchdown and was held out of the endzone in the second half. Dallas had the 11th-ranked offense this season but quarterback Dak Prescott tied a league high with 15 interceptions (career worst) and his 91.1 passer rating was the second-lowest of his career.
This came on the heels of a 2021 season where the Cowboys had the No. 1-ranked total offense in the NFL. Dallas finished top six in points scored in three of Moore’s four seasons with the Cowboys, and led the league in yards during two of those seasons.

While Dallas looks for its next offensive coordinator, its next play caller will be a familiar face. Head coach Mike McCarthy will assume play-calling duties, something he did for all but one season in Green Bay.
Whoever earns the coveted role will work closely with McCarthy which is something that could impact the decision. With that in mind, here are the top five candidates to replace Moore as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator.
