NASCAR Cup Series’ best by car number: 0-9
No. 0 (1949-2005)
Jimmie Lewallen was the first driver to take the wheel of the No. 0 in 1949. However, he’d only drive the car three times. Future racers found success with the number and eventually saw victory lane twice. The No. 0 had 16 top-five and 47 top-10 finishes, with the most races coming from Mike Bliss and Ward Burton, who took part in 38 races each. The number also won two pole positions.
Other distinguished drivers to race No. 0 were Cale Yarborough and Burton’s brother, Jeff. The number has seen 351 races in NASCAR Cup Series history.
