Bullitt East wrestling is charging forward to a bright future
MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ky. — Bullitt East traveled to Tates Creek High School in January with a smaller group of wrestlers due to conflicting tournaments over the weekend. Small but mighty, the Chargers brought home some medals. Nick Fultz podiumed at 4th in the 126lb., Davis Harris, 120lb, finished in 3rd place, and 106lb Jack Harrod and #17 ranked Alex Sauss in the 138lb. brought home the silver for the team!!!
Bullitt East has put together a big group of Middle School Wrestlers as part of the Jokers Wrestling Club, and they are proving that wrestling is truly growing on the East Side. The team slipped over to Spencer County Sabertooth Classic Tournament in January. Coached by Bradley Vidt and two volunteer high school wrestlers, Emily Hendricks and Ben Cauley, every wrestler walked away with some placement in a very large tournament. Zane Watson earned a 4th place win in the 8U Bantam 56lb division and Landen Vidt with a 3rd place in 12U Novice 70lb. Moving up to Middle School 121lb, Brayden Killen earned the Bronze. Middle School 130lb had teammates in the division but did not have to wrestle each other, ending with Tyler Ennenbach in 4th place and Aiden Hammond on the next podium step at 3rd place. Cody Grayson earned the 140lb 4th place medal. Joker Wrestlers crowded the 168lb weight class with four of the seven wrestlers from the same team. Raiden Rios topped the podium with 1st place. Presley Rayborn on the next step with 2nd place. Skip a rung, and Kane Hagan earned 4th place, followed by Jaylen Hernandez with 5th. Watching these wrestlers mature in age and skill puts Bullitt East in a great position for the future.
