6. Terje Haakonsen

Haakonsen is one of the most influential snowboarders of all time. He dominated snowboarding during the very beginnings of the sport. Haakonsen won the halfpipe at the now defunct International Snowboarding Federation World Championships in 1993, 1995 and 1997. Around the same time, he won five European Championships in the halfpipe. Many snowboarders grew up watching Haakonsen and he inspired an entire generation of snowboarders. He even has a trick named after him called the Haakon Flip.
