NHL trade deadline: Where will these 5 stars land?
Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawks
Kane’s arguably the greatest American-born hockey player ever and a future Hall of Famer. He’s also one of the best playoff performers, accumulating 132 points in 136 games. Kane led the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cup championships and won the 2013 Conn Smythe Trophy, given to the MVP of a team during the NHL’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Kane’s production has dipped this year, recording only nine goals in 48 games. That’s coming off a season where he scored 26. He could return to form on a new team that’s eyeing a run for a Stanley Cup Final, and one of those teams could be the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he’d join Auston Matthews. The Las Vegas Golden Knights and the New Jersey Devils are two other teams to watch. However, Kane has a no-movement clause, so his future destination is up to him.
Patrick Kane says he’s still undecided about the trade possibility — he’s going to take it up to the deadline — but a few teams have already reached out to his agent, Pat Brisson.
“There’s definitely opportunities out there that are intriguing and could be exciting. We’ll see.”
