NASCAR Cup Series’ best by car number: 40-49
No. 41 (1949-Present)
The No. 41 may not be the most prolific car in NASCAR history, but it’s still active to this day with Ryan Preece in the Stewart-Haas Racing Ford for 2023. In 1,256 races, the No. 41 car has taken the checkered flag first 29 times to go along with 136 top-five finishes, 296 top-10 finishes and 32 pole positions.
Richard Petty (22 races) may be the most famous driver to ever start the engine of the 41 car, but Kurt Busch (177), Cole Custer (108), Casey Mears (108) and Reed Sorensen (107) are most remembered in the number having all driven the car more than 100 races. Curtis Turner visited victory lane the most in the No. 41 collecting 12 wins with Petty and Busch not far behind each winning six times.
