NASCAR Cup Series’ best by car number: 60-69
No. 60 (1950-2011)
The No. 60 is one of just a few cars numbered 60-69 that have seen a win in the NASCAR Cup Series, as Bill Rexford took the number to victory lane in its first year of existence in 1950. Rexford would also earn multiple top-five and top-10 finishes that season, a year in which he became the youngest driver to ever win a Cup Series championship. Tom Cox saw success in the No. 60 in 1962 with 17 top-10 finishes, while Doug Cooper also produced 17 top-10 finishes from 1964-66.
Throughout the next couple of decades, the car saw sparing usage and middling success until Geoff Bodine drove the No. 60 in 1999, earning one top-five and two top-10 finishes. Bodine’s younger brother, Todd, is one of the most recent drivers of the No. 60, joining Dave Blaney, Landon Cassill and Mike Skinner as the last racers to use the number in 2011 after Boris Said appeared in a few races in the car in the mid 2000s. Overall, in addition to the 1950 win and earning one pole, the No. 60 car has seen 17 top-five finishes and 76 top-10 races all time.
