NASCAR Cup Series’ best by car number: 70-79
No. 71 (1949-2011)
In 1970, Bobby Isaac took home the No. 71’s lone Cup Series championship while driving for Nord Krauskopf. Isaac is certainly the car’s most accomplished driver, winning 35 of his 199 races. He placed in the top-five 114 times.
However, the driver most acclimated to the No. 71 is Dave Marcis who drove it in 589 of its 1,146 races.
No. 71 has not seen the track since the 2011 Sprint Cup Series where it was used by Andy Lally, Hermie Sadler and Mike Bliss that season.
