Eisenhower dance team wins UDA Nationals competition
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Eisenhower Varsity Dance Team made quite an impact at the prestigious Nationals competition held in Orlando in early February.

The Universal Dance Association (UDA) Nationals saw Eisenhower Varsity Dance Team take first place in Medium Varsity Hip Hop and second place for Medium Varsity Jazz! They also placed third in JRH Jazz, fourth in JV Pom, and fifth in JV Jazz and JRH Pom. A very impressive finish to the 2022-2023 season for the entire team and coaches!
Head Coach, Maria Chodnicki, a former Varsity Dance Team member and senior year Captain, along with her staff, led the team against the best of the best in the country. There is so much anticipation leading up to such an event, but Coach Maria’s favorite is “watching my dancers step onto the big stage and seeing their confidence and growth shine! Each one of them has grown as a dancer, and a person, in the past several months. This opportunity to coach the girls has been unreal.” she said.

All six routines performed by the dance team placed in the top five spots nationally! That’s an incredible representation of the collaboration of coaches, choreographers, alumni, parents, and dancers that make up this amazing dance program.
Congratulations to the Eisenhower Varsity Dance Team program and it’s incredibly talented dancers!
