Top 10 fastest 40-yard dash times at 2023 NFL combine
T-7. Keaton Mitchell, RB, East Carolina: 4.37 seconds
Mitchell not only ran the third-fastest 40 time (4.37) among all running backs at the combine, but he turned in the top 10-yard split (1.48) at the position as well. At 5-foot-8, 179 pounds, Mitchell proved that his speed and explosiveness might be enough to overlook his small stature. He amassed over 2,900 scrimmage yards and 24 touchdowns over the last two seasons for ECU. In a running back-heavy class, Mitchell is widely considered a Day 3 pick.
Matt Landers, WR, Arkansas: 4.37 seconds
Landers had the third-fastest 40 time among wide receivers and likely improved his draft stock because of it. After spending his first four collegiate seasons at Georgia and spending the 2021 season at Toledo, Landers caught 47 passes for 901 yards and eight touchdowns for the Razorbacks in 2022. At 6-foot-4, Landers has the size and speed for the NFL, but he’s still a developmental prospect who should hear his name called on Day 3 of the 2023 NFL Draft.
