Ezekiel Elliott to be cut; 5 landing spots for veteran RB

1. Cincinnati Bengals

While the Bengals currently have a clear leading rusher running back Joe Mixon, they easily could be in the market for a new ball carrier as the team has remained noncommittal about his future due to a large salary cap hit. Either way, Cincinnati is still in need of a backup to Mixon after they lost Samaje Perine to the Denver Broncos in free agency.

This would be a perfect fit for Elliott. Not only would he return to the state where he won a national championship with the Ohio State Buckeyes, but he would be able to serve as a backup on a bonafide Super Bowl contender. With offensive weapons such as quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on the roster, Elliott could join as a short-yardage back who can get the tough yards for the team or change the pace when Mixon needs a rest. This may not only give Elliott new life but perhaps the best chance at a Super Bowl in his career.
