The Owls have delivered on what has been a slow build up during the early years of the May-era, with a 33-3 record during the 2022-23 regular season. While May’s first four seasons with FAU came with middle-of-the-pack finishes in Conference USA, this season has been a complete turnaround as the Owls have enjoyed an impressive tournament run in their first appearance since 2002. The budding program has vaulted May towards the top of many program’s top candidates as he’s now turned a relatively unsuccessful basketball program into a consistent threat to make the NCAA tournament.
