Top 10 NFL players who played in NCAA Tournament games
2. Tony Gonzalez, California
A Hall of Famer on the gridiron, Gonzalez previously wowed as a member of the University of California-Berkeley basketball team. Over the course of his career with the Cal Golden Bears, Gonzalez averaged 6.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists over 82 games.
Gonzalez helped lead the Golden Bears to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in both 1996 and 1997. During those two tournaments, Gonzalez averaged 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.5 assists over 27.5 minutes in four games. He ended up taking his skills to the NFL, which turned out to be a wise move as Gonzalez was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019.
