The seven-time All-Star is back and could be a contributor on one of the very best teams in baseball. He is expected to platoon with Matt Carpenter for the Padres designated hitter spot, likely limiting his at-bats. But if Cruz can win big this year in San Diego, it is hard to think he’ll care about adding on to his home run total.
