Ashland University’s Nate Barrett is the 2022-23 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, as the league’s wrestling awards were revealed on Wednesday (March 22) afternoon. Barrett, also an All-Great Midwest first-teamer at 174 pounds, earned his first All-American citation by placing eighth at the 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. He was 20-8 with a pin, five technical falls and three major decisions this past season.
