10 highest-rated Texas HS boys basketball players since 2010
T-8. Aaron Harrison and Ron Holland
Aaron Harrison’s 247 Sports profile shows he has a player rating of 0.9979. The 6-foot-6 point guard graduated in the Class of 2013 from Fort Bend Travis High School (Richmond Texas) – alongside his twin brother who is also on this list.
In high school, Aaron was ranked as the No. 1 shooting guard in the country by all three major recruiting services. The McDonald’s and Jordan Brand All-American averaged 23.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists as a senior.
Today, the 28-year-old former Kentucky star is playing on a Puerto Rican professional basketball team called the Capitanes de Arecibo. Unlike how he was touted in high school, Aaron went undrafted in the NBA in 2015. He ended up playing just three seasons in the NBA where he averaged 2.3 points in 35 games.
Ron Holland
Ron Holland’s 247 Sports profile shows that he also has a player rating of 0.9979. The Class of 2023’s 6-foot-8 power forward out of Duncanville High School hasn’t graduated high school yet. However, Holland is continuously showing why he deserves to be so highly ranked.
Holland was averaging 15.9 points and 7.9 rebounds as a junior when he led Duncanville to a 35-1 record and its third consecutive state championship. As a senior this year, he’s averaging 21 points and 10.5 rebounds and he’ll soon play in the 2023 McDonald’s All-American Game.
The 17-year-old, who is committed to Texas, is expected to have a bright future. NBA Draft Room noted that, “Holland projects as a combo forward at the next level who should fit well in the modern NBA with his versatility on both ends of the floor and his overall athletic profile.”
