Ranking the top 10 New Jersey Devils players of all time
8. Bobby Holik, C (1992-2002, 2008-09)
The Hartford Whalers drafted Holik with the No. 10 overall pick in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft, and he played two seasons there before being traded to New Jersey. With the team, he would become a prominent part of the “Crash Line” with Mike Peluso and Randy McKay. That line helped the franchise win two titles and Holik played in 786 games, the tenth most in team history.
Holik signed a five-year, $45 million contract with the New York Rangers after the 2002 season and also went on to play with the Atlanta Thrashers. His last season came with the Devils, and he appeared in 62 games.
