(March 29, 2023)- After a record-setting performance in Miami on Saturday, freshman thrower Jamora Alves was named BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon. Alves put on a show at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational, setting personal bests in the shot put and discus throws with distances of 14.78 and 52.84 meters, respectively. Alves’ mark in the discus set a new Grenada national record, previously held by Sheba George 20 years ago.
