Grading college basketball’s 10 biggest coaching hires
Penn State: Mike Rhoades
Penn State is not the easiest school to win at, but Shrewsberry showed some signs of life for the program. After accumulating a 37-31 record in Happy Valley, he has jumped shipped and the Nittany Lions are in desperate need of keeping the ship afloat.
Rhoades will take over after stops at Rice and VCU and fans hope that he can keep some stability around the program. If that is the objective, he might be able to accomplish that, as his last losing season was in 2015-16. This appears to be a high-floor, low-ceiling hire by Penn State.
