Aneesah Morrow enters transfer portal; 5 possible landing spots
1. UConn
UConn women’s basketball head coach Geno Auriemma didn’t mince words after Morrow dropped a 30-point, 14-rebound double-double on the Huskies as a freshman: “She’s incredibly good at everything,” Auriemma said. “I don’t know that there’s another player in our league like that. I don’t know that there is another player in our league that plays like she plays. She has four more years to get better and better and better at it.”
Auriemma’s comments could end up being part of the reason Morrow ends up in Storrs, Connecticut. The Chicago native might not want to face her DePaul teammates twice a year in Big East play, but the opportunity to be coached by Auriemma and play with star Paige Bueckers might be too good to pass up. UConn will likely open the 2023-23 season as the national championship favorite if it’s able to land Morrow, and rightfully so.
