LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BVM) – A top-three scorer in a Power 5 conference made the decision to enter the transfer portal on Thursday. El Ellis, who played point guard for Louisville last season, entered his name into the portal after averaging 17.7 points, the third-highest total in the ever-competitive ACC.

While Ellis excelled as an individual, shooting 41% from the field and 32% from beyond the arc to bolster his scoring, the Cardinals team surrounding the point guard was in shambles as it finished the campaign at just 4-28 with a 2-18 conference record. This likely played a big role in the point guard’s decision to transfer, along with the team’s recent addition of former five-star prospect Skyy Clark.
Given his great scoring ability and high-level efficiency, Ellis will be a popular player in the transfer portal this offseason. With that in mind, here are five potential landing spots for the high-scoring point guard.
