10 most recognizable names on USFL opening game rosters

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (BVM) – The USFL is about to start its second season since being brought back to life last year. Originally started in 1983 the league lasted until 1985 but was brought back last year by Fox Sports and Brian Woods for a 10 week regular season and two week postseason. It was successful enough to earn an encore.

The Birmingham Stallions won the championship last season over the Philadelphia Stars. Since that game the league has had a lot of turnover on rosters and coaching staffs but it is set to start this weekend. Also, the Tampa Bay Bandits are now the Memphis Showboats.

The league will go from April to July and is competing with the XFL to be the premier spring professional football league.

Even with the turnover on rosters and coaching staffs, there are some familiar faces and some new players with names that everyone will recognize. Here are 10 recognizable names on USFL opening game rosters.
