Philadelphia Eagles mock draft 2023: Pick-by-pick predictions
No. 219, Round 7: Ronnie Bell, WR, Michigan
Outside of Philadelphia’s pair of star wide receivers – A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith – who combined to catch 183 passes for 2,692 receiving yards in 2022 – only one Eagles wide receiver (Quez Watkins) caught more than 30 passes last season. With their franchise QB now locked up for the foreseeable future, adding additional weapons around Hurts should be an ongoing process.
One of most underrated aspects of NFL slot play is WR’s recovery ability while playing thru contact. Great example of it here by Michigan’s Ronnie Bell.
This is just one of subtleties to Bell’s game that NFL evaluators appreciate.

Bell was a big-play threat with the ball in his hands at Michigan and could fill the same role in Philadelphia. He was named the Wolverines’ Offensive Skill Player of the Year last season as he hauled in a team-high 62 receptions and 889 receiving yards (14.3 yards per catch) to go along with four scores. Bell may need help from scheme to consistently get open in the NFL, but the Eagles’ proven weapons on the perimeter could help him in that regard.
