Johnson led the Wolfpack in scoring (12.3) and assists (3.5) while earning All-ACC second team honors. NC State went 20-12 but lost in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tournament to Princeton. Unfortunately by then, Johnson was out with an ankle injury that she suffered during NC State’s win over North Carolina on Feb. 16.
Had Johnson been playing, the Wolfpack might have been able to make a deeper run into both the ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.
In her first year in Raleigh, the 5-foot-5 guard came off the bench and averaged 10.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals. She was named ACC Sixth Player of the Year on an NC State team that won the ACC Tournament and made it to the Elite Eight in 2022.
