Top 10 biggest Green Bay Packers NFL draft busts of all time
8. Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State (2012, No. 51 overall)
Worthy is one of the lowest picks on this list, but at the time, the Packers picked him in the second round as he was hyped up as a future star on the defensive line. Coming off a strong 2011 season at Michigan State in which he had 30 tackles and 3.5 sacks as a first-team All-Big Ten player and consensus All-American, Worthy chose to go pro.
The Packers selected him 11 picks before taking cornerback Casey Hayward in the second round, and that followed the selection of Nick Perry in the first round. In two seasons in Green Bay, Worthy made just 15 tackles, eventually finishing out his NFL career with the Bills and Buccaneers. Making matters worse is that the Packers could have taken Lavonte David, Vinny Curry, or Demario Davis to add to the defense at that spot.
