ROCHESTER, Mich. — Soccer players’ feet are fast but the goalies’ hands have to be faster! One young man whose hands are particularly fast is Jake Grekowicz. Jake has been playing soccer since he was 4 years old. He then transitioned to recreational soccer and eventually travel soccer at the age of 8. Jake played on the same team, same club and always as the team goalie, until his freshman year of high school. Jake was on the Olympic Development Team (ODP) for 2 years.

When Jake started high school, he was one of two freshmen who made the varsity team as the starting goalie. Jake wanted to take his soccer career to the next level and began recording his games and practices. He sent his clips and recordings to various Major League Soccer (MLS) Next teams around the U.S. Jake was called to be a trialist for 2 national clubs and decided on Nashville Soccer Academy.
Two years ago he moved to Nashville to play soccer and attended RCS Highschool virtually. Just this year he was called up to practice with the Nashville Pro-Team and has already verbally committed to Michigan State University, class of 2024.
“Living in Nashville has been a life changing experience for me because it has brought me so many new opportunities and allowed me to meet so many new people. I’ve made best friends on my journey and Nashville SC has become a second family for me. I’m so thankful to be where I am and can’t wait to see what the future holds. Vamos Nashville! “” says Jake.
His parents are very proud of all he has accomplished so far! “Sending my 15-year-old son to live in Nashville was such a tough decision, but since Jake was six years old, playing soccer has been his true passion. I am so proud of his dedication and commitment to the Nashville Soccer Academy and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!” says his mom, Catherine. While they miss him, they are happy he is doing what he loves.
