Top 10 biggest Seattle Seahawks NFL draft busts of all time
3. Rick Mirer, QB, Notre Dame (1993, No. 2 overall)
Considered at the time as a smart pick, Mirer never panned out with the Seahawks. In his third season with the Seahawks, he was able to have a winning record, going 7-6 as a starter, but that was the peak of his football career. Mirer’s main issue was that he was careless with the football and consistently threw more interceptions than touchdowns during his time in Seattle. Over four seasons with the Seahawks, he threw 56 interceptions and just 41 touchdowns with a 53.4% completion. Mirer was traded to the Chicago Bears after his fourth season in the NFL and was mostly a backup for the remainder of his 12-year career.
