Rowing wins 10th consecutive President’s Cup over rivals Bowdoin and Colby

GREENE, Maine — The Bates rowing team turned in a dominating performance and the Bobcats won their 10th consecutive President’s Cup Regatta Saturday morning on the Androscoggin River. The Bobcats won nine of the 10 races held on Saturday against rivals Colby and Bowdoin, with the University of Maine also competing in select events. Action started at 9am and the men’s novice four, led by first-year coxswain Micah Shimizu (Batavia, Ill.) and first-year stroke George Fauver (Bedford, N.Y.), won their race in 6:52.2, seven seconds faster than runner-up Bowdoin.
