Belvedere Pickleball Club hosts event honoring Howard Hess
HAMPSTEAD, N.C. — With 72 participants (plus a waiting list of players) signing up to play in a recent social event held at The Belvedere Pickleball Club, the growing popularity of pickleball in the area was evident. Players from the Belvedere Club and the invited guests from the Cape Fear Pickleball Club enjoyed an afternoon of social play, food, and conversation, while honoring Howard Hess, the man that brought pickleball to Hampstead. Pickleball is an incredibly social sport and provides an outlet for many to make new friends of all ages. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon sharing in the love of the sport and the man that gave us “Howard’s House” at Belvedere.
