3. Kris Knoblauch

Knoblauch has been the Hartford Wolf Pack (Rangers’ AHL team) head coach since 2019, and he served as New York’s head coach after David Quinn and his staff contracted COVID-19, leading the Rangers to a 4-2 record. Knoblauch is only 44 and currently has the Wolves in the AHL playoffs, but he’s still familiar with the Rangers’ system.

While the lights would be significantly brighter in the Big Apple, hiring a younger coach could help New York flourish.
