3-decade drought: When will Stanley Cup return to Canada?

Ottawa Senators
Past championships: The Senators arrived in the NHL again in 1992 and won the President’s Trophy in 2003. Ottawa has made only one Stanley Cup Final appearance, losing to the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.
Outlook: The Senators haven’t made the playoffs since reaching the Eastern Conference finals in 2017, but with a ton of young talent, including captain Brady Tkachuk and acquiring Alex DeBrincat and Jakob Chychrun, things could be turning around. However, Ottawa doesn’t have a first, second or third-round pick in this year’s draft, which could signal to some that general manager Pierre Dorion is in “win now” mode. Only time will tell for the Senators, but there seems to be a window of opportunity for them to capture a title, especially with news of a new owner taking over the franchise.
