Cornhusker named Golden Spikes semifinalist
A Nebraska baseball player has been named as one of the 25 semifinalists for USA Baseball’s Golden Spike Award. Max Anderson was named a semifinalist for the award given to amateur baseball’s best regular-season player. The junior had a stellar 2023 hitting .412 with 21 home runs, 69 RBI, and 49 runs scored. He became the first Big Ten player with 15 home runs in a conference season with a traditional conference schedule. Nebraska has won the award only once in school history.
